Gerald Shields Way
As part of our commitment to community and heritage, RDI Land Co. is proud to name the main collector road in our Dugald West project Gerald Shields Way — a tribute to one of Dugald’s most courageous hometown heroes.
On September 1, 1947, Gerald Shields risked his life during a devastating train collision near Dugald, MB sprinting toward the wreckage to save others from the flames.
His bravery earned him the DOW award for heroism and touched countless lives. Naming this road after Gerald Shields is a lasting reminder of the strength, selflessness, and spirit that defines Dugald West.
